Happy Sunday! As well as Happy Winter Break! I had my last final yesterday- Praise God, and I pray that I did well.
During this time, us students can really start to get stressed out when we are waiting to see how we did for the semester with our grades. Becoming frantic and just in a place where patience is not our friend. We become so consumed with our daily lives that we forget to acknowledge the being that has got us this far.
For today’s devotion we focus on Mathew 13.
Mathew 13 is about when Jesus uses parables to the masses with words of wisdom. When doing this one scripture sticks out with me the most.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. -Mathew 6:28-33
Speaking for myself, I have had and still sometimes do have a problem sticking to this scripture. When I want something that needs to be done or I have a dream, I make initially start off with giving it to God and trying to remain positive. But eventually, I lose patience, taking it back from God to control it and see if I can make it happen. Failing every time. When I should have put it in God’s hands and left it there.
In other cases, instead of just starting something and only thinking about the world in mind, I should start everything I do with God in my mind and doing everything for Him. When you put God first, good things are bound to come out of it.
For this Sunday, I encourage you to concentrate on Mathew 13 and really reflect on it. Being that it is a new year I encourage you to see what you need to give to God this year. What is worrying you? What actions can you do about it? Is it out of your control? Always do your best, but always have God with you.
Happy Sunday!
All the Love and Blessings,
Andrea Othela
