New Year Goals: 2018 Edition

The day is coming to a close. Christmas has left just as quickly as it came. Our bellies are stuffed, my weight scale has went up, and 2017 is making its way out the door. Now that we are days away from the new year, I have to admit that this was a very embarrassing year for me, a year filled with a few ups but as far as who I am a few downs as well. Thinking about, I’m kind of breathing a sigh of relief for the new year. A solid new start, new life, new outlook, and new habits. Now there are five main categories that my goals fall in to.

  • Faith
  • Finances
  • Personal
  • Fitness
  • Academics

With that been said, let’s get into it!!

Faith

Off all of these, this has to be the most important goal of all. Having strayed from my bible, I can definitely see the results from that. My soul is craving to be back home again. Living in the times that we are living in, it is crucial to me to have a great and solid foundation in Christ to guide me in life and let His will be done. So in saying that I have three main goals for this category:

  1. Read the Bible in one year!
  2. Attend or watch church online every Sunday
  3. Give at least 1 hour a day to Christ dividing it to 3 x a day

With these goals, I hope that this will redirect my mind to the main goal of life and also just keep my grounded and fill and replace my body with all the negativity replacing it with greatness.

Finances

Let’s be real. School loves to see me broke. Life loves to see me broke. Don’t get me wrong, I’d like to think I’m responsible, but I can be better. Some people my age, even in college are a bit more well off than me when it comes to budgeting and even buying cars or even houses at this time and age. Dealing with student loans, tuition payments, fun payments. It’s all apart of finances. But there have been more times that I like that I have looked at my bank account like where did my money go, and realize that I spent on something that I could have waited to buy later when more financially stable. In saying that I have four main goals for this category.

  1. Create a savings account
  2. Pay off credit card
  3. Save at least One thousand dollars
  4. Budget and keep track of purchases each month

Personal

Looking at myself emotionally, spiritually, and physically, I have a lot of work to do! The biggest one being learning to love myself. That’s a big problem of mine. Having confidence and feeling that I deserve life and love has always been something I have lacked all my life. Yeah. That got deep, but I know that I am not alone. In saying that the goal is simple.

  1. Meet myself
  2. Get to Know myself
  3. Love myself

This personal category can also relate to my work. By work, I’m not talking about my EMS job, but my personal job, Blogging and Content Creating. As the year has come to a close, I’ve thought I lot about what I wanted from my blog and youtube channels. Making promises that I could never keep made me realize that the goal isn’t to become everyone else. The goal is to create my own footprint on the world before my time is up. Having a decent class schedule for the upcoming semester, I believe that the new goals will be a bit more obtainable and I’m more motivated than ever to get started. Here they are!!

  1. Finish or Publish First Book Ever!
  2. Upload one video a week! (Friday’s)
  3. Blog Posts twice a week!! ( To be determined )
  4. Do at least 4 collaborations/features!

 Fitness

This has gone way out of control. Reaching almost 300 pounds, I am done feeling this unhealthy. I have also opened my eyes to what I am consuming and let me just say that I am shocked. There is something that I have always wanted to try. That big thing is a vegan lifestyle. So I have decided that for the year of 2018 I will be practicing a vegan lifestyle. It will be a tough transition and I will have to learn a lot about the lifestyle, but I am looking forward to it. So here are my goals!

  1. Go vegan for the year 2018
  2. Lose at least 50-100 pounds in one year
  3. Work out 3-5x a week at the gym!
  4. Run a mile
  5. Be able to do 10 pushups

Academics

Last but not least, college. One of the hardest thing I’ve done in my life. College has been so stressful to me, but for the year of 2018, my goal is to embrace the struggle and focus on the end goal. The scalpel in my hand helping and making a positive impact on people’s lives. Yes I help people now as an EMT. But being a surgeon is my end goal. Period. But there are some goals I want to set for 2018 to continue onto my journey.

  1. Get all A’s for 2018.
  2. Start Paramedic School
  3. Gain more experience as EMS personell
  4. Recert as an EMT
  5. Learn more as EMS personell

There you have it! It may seem a bit simple to some, but this will be very challenging for me. Rising like a Phoenix from the ashes and starting anew. I must say I am a bit nervous and anxious as to what the new year will bring me but nonetheless very optimistic. The big part comes with preparing for the new year. I’m sure that will be harder than walking into the new year!
