Preparing posts for social media and my blog here used to always be about sharing good things around me and good things that are happening to me. I had become adamant that the only thing readers wanted to see was my successes. Not my shortcomings or complete misses. That’s what social media is about right? Sharing everything great and putting up a fake world to make everyone think your life is perfect. I think it’s wrong.
It wasn’t until I came upon many non-traditional med students and lifestyle bloggers instagram that I realized how wrong I was. In my opinion with new perspective, I think the influencer community should be about showing everything. The good and the bad. Which I’ve come to notice brings more loyal supporters and keeps things a lot more easier with the honest factor.
This made me think, why not share it all? People are going to read my writing and see me grow anyway. A lot of people that have talked to me about my career that aren’t in the same field think that yeah its hard, but it’s easy for me. That couldn’t be further from right. It took me blood, sweat, body pain, tears, and more tears just to become an EMT. Imagine what becoming a paramedic and doctor is going to be like!
God promises to make something good out of the storms that bring devastation to your life
-Romans 8:28
When reading the bible, it struck me with the story of Job that they’re going to be rough times and without them we are unable to see the light so brightly in the dark times. Without the bad times we are unable to appreciate the good times. We are also unable to motivate and/or inspire others that there is truly no ceiling to fulfilling your purpose in life no matter the adversity or difficulty. We are a walking testimony that anything is possible. It may look easy, but a lot of hard work and fall backs get us where we are. That’s important to share with others to set a foundation of honesty and also a story that can be relatable.
In saying that I challenge you to share your story. You’ll come to find that your’e not so alone with your challenges. You’ll also most likely be changing someone’s outlook on things for the better.
Have a happy Sunday Funday!
God Bless, With love,
Andrea Othela xoxo
